Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of forming a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws regarding urban exploration, property access, and safety.

• Minimum age: Urbex Planet is for users aged 16 or older.
• Local requirements: If your local law requires a higher minimum age for online services, you must meet that higher age.
• Under age of majority: If you are between 16 and the age of majority in your region, you affirm that you have any required permission from a parent or legal guardian and that you (and they, where applicable) are responsible for your use of the service.
• No under‑16 accounts: We do not permit accounts for users under 16 and may remove or restrict accounts we reasonably believe are under the minimum age.

2. Account & Security

• You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials.
• Report suspected compromise promptly to [email protected].
• We may suspend or terminate accounts used for abuse, harassment, scraping, or repeated violations.

3. User Content & Licence

You retain ownership of your submitted photos, reports, comments, and other materials. You grant Urbex Planet a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free, transferable licence (with the right to sublicense) to host, display, reproduce, adapt, distribute, and promote the content for operating and improving the platform and community presence. This licence ends for specific content when you delete it (except where retained in backups or required for legal / moderation reasons).

Do not upload content you do not have the right to share.

4. Prohibited Behaviour

• Harassment, targeted abuse, hate, or threats.
• Posting illegal content, doxxing, or sensitive personal data.
• Attempting to circumvent rate limits, security, or access private data.
• Scraping, bulk data extraction, automated replication, or training AI on proprietary content without consent.
• Encouraging unsafe or unlawful trespass. (Content should be informational and respectful.)

5. Locations, Safety & Assumption of Risk

Urban exploration carries inherent and serious risks, including structural collapse, hazardous materials, falls, injury, and death. Locations and information shared on the site are community‑generated and may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, or unsafe. Do not endanger yourself or others. Respect property, local laws, and preservation ethics.

• No permission, no affiliation, no verification: Urbex Planet does not own, control, manage, inspect, or verify any location listed on the platform. A listing is not permission, an invitation, or a right to enter, access, or photograph any location, and Urbex Planet is not affiliated with any property owner, occupier, or authority. You are solely responsible for obtaining any permission required and for complying with all applicable laws.
• Voluntary assumption of all risk: If you choose to visit, access, attempt to access, or otherwise act on any location or information found on the platform, you do so entirely at your own risk and voluntarily assume all risk — including bodily injury, illness, death, property damage, arrest, fines, and other legal penalties — whether to yourself, your property, or any third party.
• Release and hold harmless: To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release, waive, and agree to hold harmless and indemnify Urbex Planet, its operators, and its contributors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, injuries, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to any location or information on the platform or your reliance on it.
• Not advice: Nothing on the site constitutes legal, safety, structural, medical, or other professional advice. You are solely responsible for independently verifying the legality, safety, condition, and accessibility of any location and for your own conduct.

6. Intellectual Property

All platform code, design, structure, compiled data arrangements, and original site content are owned by Urbex Planet unless otherwise specified. See the Copyright Notice for further details.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at our discretion for violations, security concerns, inactivity, or legal obligations. You may stop using the service at any time. Some data (e.g., moderation logs) may persist as necessary.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind (express or implied). We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, accuracy of user content, or absence of vulnerabilities. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness, and non‑infringement.

The platform may link to or contain content from third‑party websites, services, or sources that Urbex Planet does not own or control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, safety, or practices of any third‑party site or resource, and you access them at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Urbex Planet is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, goodwill, or profits. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to discontinue use of the platform.

The platform is informational only. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Urbex Planet, its operators, and its contributors are not liable for any personal injury, illness, death, property damage, trespass, arrest, fines, or other harm or legal consequences arising out of or related to accessing, attempting to access, visiting, or relying on any location or information made available on the platform — whether suffered by you or by any third party.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Urbex Planet, its operators, and its contributors from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses — including reasonable legal and attorneys' fees and defence costs — arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the platform or any location or information on it; (b) your content; (c) your trespass, property damage, injury to yourself or others, or any unlawful or unsafe activity; (d) your violation of these Terms; or (e) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defence of that claim.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes may be announced or timestamped here. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Location Listings & Removal Requests

Locations on Urbex Planet are submitted by members of the community. If you are a property owner, an authorized representative, or anyone with a safety, legal, privacy, or preservation concern and you believe a location should be removed, please email us at [email protected] with details of the location and the reason for your request.

We review removal requests in good faith but do not guarantee that any particular location will be removed or that removal will occur within any specific timeframe. Removing a listing does not erase information that may already be cached, copied, or shared elsewhere beyond our control.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or your use of Urbex Planet, are governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict‑of‑laws principles. You agree that any dispute will be brought exclusively in the courts of Canada, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any mandatory consumer‑protection rights available to you under the laws of your place of residence that cannot lawfully be waived.

14. Survival

Termination, expiry, or deletion of your account or these Terms does not affect any provision that by its nature should continue to apply. The following survive and remain in effect: User Content & Licence, Locations, Safety & Assumption of Risk, Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnity, and Governing Law & Disputes.

15. General

• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
• Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Copyright Notice, constitute the entire agreement between you and Urbex Planet regarding the service and supersede any prior agreements.
• No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that or any other right or provision.
• Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms, in whole or in part, at any time (for example, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets).
